Scenes From a Park

“Scenes From a Parkis not your typical ballet. It’s more of a Ballet meets Broadway production. The costumes also are not typical of traditional ballet. Instead of tutus and tights, you will see stylish dresses and suits, knickers and vests, military uniforms and even the rags of a bag lady. The ballet is a series of short vignettes telling the story of the colorful characters and everyday occurrences in a city park over the course of a year during the 1940’s. The score is a compilation of songs by Irving Berlin played. The youth ballet company features 19 dancers ages 11-22. as well as professional mime Tom Johnson (Toma the Mime) and other special performers. This charming ballet is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, a laugh to your heart and perhaps even a tear to your eye. It will truly be a marvelous experience, combining dance, music and theater.
