Although the original 1892 performance was a flop, The Nutcracker has snowballed into a holiday must-see for families today. A traditional story with original choreography by company Artistic Director, Thomas Morrell, The Nutcracker has quickly become an NMBT audience favorite! Be sure to follow us for all updates and performance dates. In addition to shows in our home of Traverse City, NMBT strives to tour The Nutcracker to a new and deserving community every year.
Nutcracker Family
Every generation is represented in this timeless classic. Dancers aged 8 and above are needed and encouraged to audition every August for this annual winter event. Being an NMBT member is not a requirement, and new dancers from any studio are welcomed with open arms to join for only the holiday season. Learn how you can join our cast!
